“Do not lay up for
yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves
break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven… Therefore do
not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What
shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For you heavenly
Father knows that you need all these things.” Matthew 6:19,20,31,32
Sebin
likes to eat almonds. Since almonds seem hard and big for Sebin to chew and
swallow we got her a bag of sliced almonds, you know, the ones you put in
salad. When Sebin sees the bag of sliced almonds her face would glow joyfully
and she would start following me.
At
first, I would give her one piece at a time. No big deal to feed her. She would
happily munch on it but you know that is not enough for her. Before she is done
with it she would ask for another one and then some more.
Well
now, she is smart and mobile. She doesn’t want me to feed her anymore. Sebin
will put her small hand in the bag and grab a whole chunk of almonds! What
happens next is really funny though. When I am about to think that she would be
satisfied with what she has in her one hand, Sebin reaches the other hand into
the bag to grab another whole chunk of almonds. She now has chunks of almonds
in her two little hands. It’s really cute when you think about it.
But
here comes the problem. Sebin tries to eat the whole chunk at once, but as you
can imagine already, most of her almonds will fall to the ground! (And daddy
has to pick it all up, that’s right!)
