“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His
face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.” Numbers 6:24,25.
I
believe I shared my devotionals on this verse before but I must share my
experience from this morning again. So
our little Sejin is now 8 weeks old and she’s been doing real well at night so
far. She was a bit fussy last night and for some reason she kept getting up.
Hyemi had to get up along with her to put Sejin back to bed and you know that
is not easy. Hyemi herself was getting real tired all night long.
It was just past 4 am and once again Sejin is up and
crying. Finally she asked me to hold her. I got up and I was still in my sleep.
I held Sejin in my arms and I started walking around. You can’t just stand
still. Babies love it when you walk around while holding them. So here I am
with Sejin in my arms walking all over the second floor. She seemed to be
enjoying it and was not going to sleep. After some minutes, I got tired and I
sat on the top of the stairs. This is my favorite place in the house. This is
where I can sit, open the window, and enjoy the outside view and the cool
breeze. The window wasn’t open because it would be cold but I sat down. I can
see that it was slowly getting brighter outside. It was about 4:40am. I held
Sejin closely and looked into her face. She was beautiful. I brought her face
as close as I can and I just enjoyed the moment. I was the happiest man on
earth. My face was glowing with joy. She looked calm and ready to fall asleep
again.
I think this experience taught me something about
this verse. I mean, it’s awkward sometimes when you see someone face to face or
when you are staring at someone and then that person notices that you are
staring at that person. But this is God’s face shining upon us. I think it
would be such a beautiful experience when God is looking into our eyes and let
His amazing face shine upon us.
